Enjoy a variety of learning opportunities at Rural Route 1 Critical Defense Training. 
We offer many different courses.
Novice Course, No FOID Required. Ammunition can be purchased on sight for range use only from a vendor. Multiple firearms are available to use for free during class and range time.The class and range time varies from 4-6 hours depending on the needs of the students.
The cost for this novice course is 50.00 per student and we cover all the Basics, Safety, and Fundamentals of Shooting all designed around the concept for a person with No or little to No Firearm Experience At All.
Illinois Conceal and Carry Course,The Foid is Required for the Conceal and Carry Classes, 50 Rounds of Ammunition Required, although (Available On Sight From A Vendor If Needed)
You must be 21 years of age, it is required for an Illinois Conceal and Carry License.
In our courses, Multiple Firearms are available to use on sight and we have a process to find one to naturally fit you similarly to our novice course. If you already have a selected firearm you can bring it along with 50 rounds of ammunition.
Bring eye & ear protection. (eyes and ears are available upon request)
We have locker storage available with your lock if you choose to bring one to store your gear during class.
For an Illinois Conceal and Carry License, A 16-hour class is required unless you are qualified by the state of Illinois to bypass the first 8 hours of the basic pistol.With approved paperwork, you can be credited 8 hours with a certificate from Law Enforcement or a DD214 from the Military, etc. Many choose to do the full 16-hour course due to the volume of information made available to obtain proper firearm training.
The 16-hour course is 150.00 per student. The 8-hour course is 75.00 per student. The 5 year 3-hour retraining course is 50.00 per student, it includes the classroom training, written test, and shooting course required by the Illinois Carry Act.
The Range, we host 6 lanes that are available to use all at once. We have a loading table for ammunition. You will have an unloaded firearm at all times unless you are on the firing line and given the order to make ready.
B-27 targets are used per the laws following the State of Illinois Conceal and Carry Act.10 shots at each distance of 7, 10, and 15 yards on our range.
All Woman's Courses Are Available for both the novice and conceal and carry classes if desired.
Youth Safety Course,(All About the 22) ages 12-18 are available. We cover safety around all firearms and safe handling of firearms. We cover revolvers, semi-automatic pistols, and carbine rifles. These classes can last from 6-8 hours depending on the student's needs. The cost is 50.00 per student.
We also offer Private Groups Only Classes. These classes are available upon request of 6 or more up to 20.
We can also do night courses to help with people's busy weekend schedules.

Our facility can teach up to 20 students at a time.
The Range is available to anyone during range hours once they have gone through any of the course classes and understand the safety requirements needed.
